The 2025 Derby & Dining was a dazzling blend of Southern charm, community spirit and heartfelt generosity. Hosted by the Hoover City Schools Foundation, the annual fundraiser welcomed supporters dressed in their Derby best—wide-brimmed hats, bold bow ties and vibrant florals—who gathered to celebrate and support educational innovation.
Guests enjoyed an evening of curated cuisine, live entertainment and spirited auctions, all set against a backdrop of laughter and purpose. In addition, the first Lasting Impression Awards were presented to three deserving Hoover educators: Kristen Belcher, Greystone Elementary; Tamera Carter, Bumpus Middle School; and Chef Alethea Carter, Riverchase Career Connection Center. The recipients were honored with an award and a $500 grant to be used for innovative ideas in their classrooms.
Through their participation, attendees helped raise vital funds for teacher-led grants that bring creative, hands-on learning to classrooms across the district. Each photo captured reflects the joy of giving back—and the power of a community united for its schools.
