Relationships can feel like a dream, but what does it mean when we dream about our relationship? It turns out it can mean a lot of things! It’s perfectly normal to carry our relationship thoughts over to the sleeping dimension. This can result in complicated feelings when we wake up in the morning though. Break-ups, romance, marriage, and all sorts of other things could have happened in our sleep. Are our brains or the universe trying to tell us something about our relationship? Most of these dreams are very common and tend to indicate that the relationship (whether it’s going well or poorly) is on your mind. The good people at PsychicWorld.com made it easy peezy lemon-squeezy for us to say exactly what the most frequent relationship dreams were - and what they could signify. The study, which was completed on February 13th, took a look at the highest volume of searches for relationship-themed night visions. Here are the results.

#1 - Pregnancy

This was the most searched relationship dream by far, but it doesn’t always relate to the wish for having a child. Oftentimes, dreams centered around pregnancy can indicate new ideas, creations, or paths in your life. Your partner being in the dream can indicate their role of support during this exciting new phase.

#2 - Marriage

The second most common relationship dream is marriage, which makes plenty of sense. It is in fact many people’s dream to end up married. Visions of holy matrimony often increase as we continue to connect with our partner and spend more time together.

#3 - An Ex

You swore it was over and you’d never think of them again - but they are popping up in your dreams! Don’t worry - this is very common. Dreaming of an ex comes in at number 3 on the list. What it means brings a bit more variety than some of the other dreams on this list. It could mean that you are moving on from the past or that you are still contemplating aspects of the relationship.

#4 - Sex

Are things getting steamy in your dreams? There are a variety of reasons why that could be the case! Who you're dreaming about can go a long way in helping to determine that. An ex? Your current partner? Dreams about sex often indicate a healthy libido.

#5 - Getting Engaged

Our number 5 ranking is similar to the number two spot, but with a bigger focus on the big question. It could mean that you’re thinking more about your significant other, but can also be a sign of yearning for deeper commitment or more structure in your life.

#6 (Tied) - Breaking Up/Partner Cheating

It’s not fun to go through a breakup - especially when cheating is involved. It’s not fun to dream (or rather have nightmares) about these things either. Breaking up and having a partner cheat share the number 6 spot on most searched dreams. Both can indicate insecurities or anxiety about the relationship.

#8 - Cheating On Your Partner

A dream about cheating on your partner can understandably bring a lot of complex thoughts to the brain. It could mean that you feel guilty or unfulfilled in your relationship, or that you are having trust issues with your significant other.

#9 - Cheating

While it's a little broader than our #6 and #8 rankings that deal with the subject matter, dreams of cheating in general can still relate to the anxieties and insecurities that often cause the previous infidelity dreams.

#10 - Partner Dying

The tenth most searched relationship dream is a morbid one, but the meaning behind it isn’t necessarily so. Dreaming of your partner dying could indicate a fear of losing them or that you’ve seen some changes in their behavior or health recently.
