A new week has begun in Birmingham, and it brings yet another 7 days full of fun concerts, competitions, holiday markets, and more! Local is front and center again, with national music heavyweights coming through to make for a very entertaining week. Here are a few of the events we are most looking forward to.
Null, Thousandaire, Rid of Me, & Sugarplums (Monday)
Yet another spectacular free event is coming to Saturn this Monday! Birmingham favorites Null and Sugarplums will be joining Thousandaire from Atlanta and Rid of Me from Philadelphia. The bands bring a great variety of music to start the week off on a very fun note.
Rod Wave at The BJCC (Monday)
There are a lot of great musicians coming to Birmingham in December, and Rod Wave is one of the hottest acts to do so. The craftsman behind “Heart on Ice”, “Rags2Riches”, and many more hits is coming to the Legacy Arena at The BJCC on December 5th for what is sure to be a night to remember.
Scantron 5000 Trivia: 2000s Edition (Wednesday)
A lot has happened in the world of pop culture since January 1, 2000. TV shows ranging from Lost to Human Giant to Heroes all came and claimed a piece of our hearts. One-hit wonders, global heartthrobs, and media moments seemed to come in a daily reel - leaving a trail of trivia dust behind them. You could do a whole trivia centered around Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck’s relationship alone, but the next Scantron 5000 Trivia event at Saturn quizzes you on all things 2000s pop culture! The fun competition takes place this Wednesday night.
The Drag & Night Market: Christmas Edition (Friday)
Monday Night Brewing has been bringing some great recurring events to the Magic City, including Drag Night (beats, anime, and video games) and their Night Time Vendor Market. The brewery is merging these two events for a special holiday experience this Friday beginning at 6pm.
Avondale’s Holiday Market (Saturday)
Santa Clause is coming to town! In fact, he will be in Birmingham this Saturday at Avondale Brewing. The jolly fellow will be taking pictures (pets are welcome) and bringing tidings of comfort and joy. Plenty of great opportunities to support local businesses and sip on hot chocolate will be available as well.
