Social Media Intern

About Town seeks an intern to assist with managing our social media platforms. We seek a self-motivated student with a wide range of skills to join our team for an experience that could follow a credit-based internship program.

Responsibilities include taking pictures and video, editing, archiving and uploading pictures, writing text for posts, choosing captivating images, creating engaging content. The intern will monitor local events for inclusion on social media and in the online social calendar. Training is provided, but a baseline of skills is expected, including strong writing, comfort working with images and using a range of computer applications.

Hours are flexible and some work can be done remotely. Intern will ideally to report to physical building in downtown Birmingham at least one day per week with health and safety precautions in place. The number of hours to be completed weekly, the duration of the internship and specific completion of assignments can be adapted to meet college requirements.

About Town is an established 15-year-old hyper-local social magazine that highlights the fun and philanthropy of the Magic City.
