According to a recent study, the most expensive halftime show in the last decade was Shakira and Jennifer Lopez’s performance in 2020, which, at 14 minutes and 21 seconds, reportedly cost $13 million. That breaks down to $15,099 per second!
Katy Perry’s show in 2015, Coldplay’s show in 2016, and Lady Gaga’s show in 2017 each cost a cool $10 million. Rounding out the top five was The Weeknd’s show last year, coming in at a cost of $7 million.
Which halftime show of the past 10 years was the most popular?
Well, the money spent paid off, because Shakira and Jennifer Lopez’s show ranks No. 1 in terms of popularity. It has been viewed a whopping 221 million times on YouTube – a huge pace ahead of the No. 2 most popular show of the last decade, Coldplay, whose show has been viewed 85 million times.
In third place is Lady Gaga (73 million views), in fourth place is Katy Perry (62 million), and, rounding out the top five, The Weeknd, with 44 million.
