Do Dah Day is thrilled to be back and more exciting than ever! This event is a day full of puppy love, fun activities, and tasty brews which provides a fun time for the whole family. Since being founded as a 100% volunteer organization in 1992, Do Dah Day has raised over $1.8 million and counting for over 40 years and has become recognized as Birmingham’s oldest event!
This year the event will be held at Cahaba Brewing Company, which is a change of scenery for the organization from its previous location held in Highland Park. Family members of all ages are invited to Do Dah Day and four-legged friends are welcomed as well! There will be a stationary parade which visitors may walk through and Cahaba Brewing Company has created an event-specific beer titled “Do Dah Daisy” for those who wish to give it a taste.
15th Annual Spring Scramble 5K

After hitting pause on their annual Spring Scramble 5K Road Race last year, UAB is thrilled to have runners back on their feet this weekend in order to support the health of Birmingham’s local community! The UAB Pediatrics Residency Program is excited to head this year’s 15th annual Spring Scramble with registration starting shortly before the run itself on Saturday. Live music, games and door prizes will all be offered after the completion of the race!
The Spring Scramble helps promote the well-being of children around Birmingham, and this year the funds raised by the event will go toward the resident-run community outreach and advocacy organization, titled the Coat of Arms. Funds raised from the race help provide much-needed items such as books and helmets to the children who are patients within primary care settings.

Red Mountain Theatre has been serving the greater Birmingham area for more than 40 years and is extremely proud to present the opening of its new campus located on Third Avenue South. The Parkside Concert Series is an event being held in order to celebrate the “soft” opening of the new campus located downtown.
The Parkside Concert Series will include performances given by Kristen and Jon Cambell, a duo who plan to excite the community with music which combines classic rock, musical theatre and modern hits through acoustic sounds! This concert will be one of the preceding events before the campus’ Grand Opening planned to be held from June 17-20.

Have you ever wanted to break a sweat and then break the seal on a nice, cold beer? Well, Back Forty Beer Company Birmingham is holding the perfect event for you! Back40 Barre offers a Tri-Fusion workout which contains elements of pilates, yoga and HIIT cardio for Birmingham locals that will promise to make you feel revitalized after a busy week.
Cold drinks will be offered by the brewery at a similar price to the class itself, and although the purchase of an alcoholic beverage is not required to participate in the class, it is strongly encouraged! This morning workout will most definitely open your mind and body before you decide to open your tastebuds to a craft beer produced by this local brewery.
Opera Shots

Make sure to pack your lawn chairs and blankets for the most comfortable concert experience! Opera Shots is Birmingham’s annual series of casual pop-up concerts, held in unexpected places and designed to better showcase opera. Admission is free to the public and food and beverages will be made available for purchase from The Collins Bar.
The concert will feature members of the Opera Birmingham Chorus in addition to guest artists which include: Savannah Bracewell, Chris Farley, Dylan Hughes and more, all accompanied by Christy Vest on the piano. The performance will include sounds for all ages, having selections which range from Hamilton to South Pacific and more.
The Exceptional Foundation’s 18th Annual Prom

The Junior League of Birmingham (JLB) is proud to host The Exceptional Foundation’s 18th annual Prom on Sunday, May 16 from 6 to 8 p.m. at The Club. The event is held annually for those with special needs in the Birmingham community enrolled in the Foundation.
“This is an event that our members look forward to all year, and each year is more special than the last,” said Robbie Lee, The Exceptional Foundation’s Public Relations Director. “Many of our participants may not have had the opportunity to attend their high school prom, so hosting this event is one of our greatest joys as an organization.”
Prom will include a sit-down dinner as well as a band performance from Livewire. The 2021 theme is “Under the Sea.” Masks are required at the event, and attendance is limited.
