Residents of Vestavia Hills and anyone who wants to kickstart the holiday season this week, mark your calendars – the second annual All Is Bright tree lighting at the Vestavia City Center is set for Thursday, November 18 from 6 to 8 p.m.

Admission is free to the family-friendly tree lighting and holiday kickoff event, and the tree is located on the front green space in between Panera Bread and First Watch Café, said April Godsey.

Beginning at 6 p.m., local music students will perform, the tree lighting will take place at 7 p.m., and the Birmingham Boys Choir will perform from 7 to 7:30 p.m.

“Santa will be there accompanied by local music students and will be using his magic to light the tree promptly at 7 p.m.,” she said. “The Birmingham Boys Choir will be performing following the tree lighting, and the crowd will be able to sing along to their favorite holiday songs.”

Attendees can also enjoy Crumbl cookies and strike a pose at the complementary photo booth, Godsey said.

“We have also partnered with Magic Moments and will be selling foam glowsticks, with 100 percent of sales going directly to them,” she said. “Magic Moments is the only wish-granting organization devoted exclusively to children ages four to 18 in the state of Alabama diagnosed with chronic life-threatening illnesses.”
