Cooler temperatures, blue skies and falling leaves mean it's time to cue up favorite fall treats. You'll want to add this delicious pumpkin bread to your baking lineup. The addition of dark chocolate chips and walnuts give a basic recipe and fantastic lift. But it's the sweet and crunchy streusel topping that knocks this Chocolate Walnut Pumpkin Crunch Bread out of the pumpkin patch!

Ingredients

  • 1 cup Vegetable Oil
  • 2 cups Granulated Sugar
  • 4 Eggs
  • 1 tsp. Cinnamon
  • 1 tsp. Nutmeg
  • 1/4 tsp. Ginger
  • 3 cups Flour
  • 1 1/2 tsp. Salt
  • 2 tsp. Baking Soda
  • 1 can Pumpkin
  • 3/4 cup Water
  • 1 cup Dark Chocolate Chips
  • 1/2 cup Chopped Walnuts

For Topping

  • 1/4 cup Granulated Sugar
  • 1/4 cup Brown Sugar
  • 1/4 cup Flour
  • 2 tbsp. Unsalted Butter

Preheat oven to 325 degrees. Stir together cinnamon, nutmeg, ginger, flour, salt and baking soda in a small bowl. In a larger bowl, mix vegetable oil, sugar and eggs. Add dry ingredient mix gradually until incorporated. Add pumpkin and water. Stir in chocolate chips and walnuts. Grease two loaf pans and pour in batter. Bake bread for 35 minutes. Mix topping ingredients and cut in butter. Remove loaf pans from the oven. Spoon topping over the loaves. Continue baking for about 25 minutes or until top springs back.
