March Madness is coming BACK to BHAM!
This will mark the first time for the NCAA Tournament in Birmingham since 2008 for the men. It will also be the FIRST EVER women's tournament in Birmingham!
Birmingham's newly renovated BJCC Legacy Arena will hold the first and second rounds of the NCAA Tournament for Division 1 men's basketball in 2023 and Division 1 women's basketball southern regional in 2025.
The BJCC's Legacy Arena closed in April of this year to take on a $123 million dollar renovation and expansion and the Arena is expected to reopen in 2022.
The renovations and expansion include:
- improved fan experience
- premium seating options
- improved food and beverage options
- new team and artist areas
- operational improvements for event partners
- upgraded seats
- modern hospitality suites
- club areas (with views to event floor)
- improved locker and coaches rooms on par with any other venue in the country
Birmingham is back in the game and able to compete with other top-tier sporting and entertainment venues through the BJCC's Legacy Arena renovation and expansion. March of 2023 and 2025 will have the nation's focus all on Birmingham which will lead to many new economic opportunities for the local community.
