Our 2018 brides have been wanting to think more outside the box and really looking for their weddings to stand out while still reflecting their personal style. This has made us so excited! It is easy for “southern weddings” to get a bit monotonous, so when we get to spread our creative wings it is a real treat.

1. DON’T FORGET THE GROOM

A wedding is definitely tailored to the bride’s style and taste. So sometimes our poor grooms get overlooked! A good way to add a punch to the reception (or even some humor) is to do a groom’s cake centered around their favorite hobby, sport, or pet!

2. A PLACE TO RELAX

Providing an area for guests to kick their feet up when they take a break from dancing the night away is a favorite at Handley Breaux Designs. This is a great way to incorporate the southern hospitality that we are known for while allowing the bride to pick furniture that fits her personal style.

3. BRIGHT POPS OF COLOR

Every once in a while, we get a bride who is a color lover. Incorporating bright pops of color into your design plan will be memorable for your guests and create fabulous photography moments!

4. MODERN IS BACK

We are seeing a trend of brides wanting to shy away from traditional lace and roses and veer more towards a sleek and modern design plan. Recently we designed a wedding using mostly greenery with white orchid and calla lily accents – and it will go down as one of our all-time favorites!

5. KEEP IT PERSONAL

The one thing I tell all of my brides is to remember that their wedding is their day – no one else’s. That being said, the personal taste and style of the bride and her groom needs to be reflected so that their guests walk in and say, “wow, this is so them!” When your bride is adamant that she have a sit-down dinner in the garden and the weather just won’t cooperate, you move the garden inside! We work really hard for our brides to ensure that no matter what curveballs hit us, their vision can still be brought to life! When you create an indoor garden, your wedding is sure to stand out!
