Taco lovers, rejoice! The most delicious weekend of the year returns to Birmingham this Saturday, May 21st, from 1 to 6pm. Birmingham Taco Fest, which is hosted by Bare Hands Inc., is bringing a huge collection of the Magic City’s favorite taco vendors to Sloss Furnaces for a day full of great food, music, drinks, and community. The tickets are $8 if bought in advance and $12 the day of, and both price ranges bring a guaranteed good time in the city we call home.
Part of the day's festivities includes the ability to vote for “Best Taco” at the event, which is like choosing the most badass Small Soldier character- impossible. But we have to try Birmingham. Favorites like Los Valedores, Tacos Toluca, Backyard Tacos, Fat Charles, Pastor’s Taco Truck, and Mi Pueblo are all competing for the top prize, but the real winner is the stomach of every person who has just one taco at this amazing event.
The long list of wonderful taco trucks is complimented by a seriously impressive collection of other vendors including 4129 DropSauce, Muerte Nation, SoulSistah3.0, Mark Alexander Clay Co., and many more. Other tasty treats like boba teas from Thirstea Cafe, spiced candy from Chilito’s, tamales from Tamale Queen, and popsicles from Steel City Pops. There will also be music from DJ Khallima and La Tropa Kumbiambera to ensure that the vibes are quite wonderful while thousands of tacos are being digested.
If you are looking for one location to take your tastebuds out for the greatest day of their lives, this Saturday at Sloss Furnaces is the only choice. We have many incredible food options in the Magic City, and it’s even more amazing when they all come together to create a celebration of all things tasty and taco. We hope to see you out there!
