Have you been missing the sounds of the symphony playing at Railroad Park? Thinking about Alabama Ballet performances of summers past at Gorham's Bluff? Wishing you were taking in a concert at Alys Stephens Center, a beloved Broadway musical by Red Mountain Theatre or an Opera Birmingham production? Your favorite Birmingham arts organizations are joining forces to give you a taste of the live music, theatre and dance you've been missing in two socially-distanced events you don’t want to miss!
On Thursday, July 30 and Friday, July 31, you can tune in live to an evening of free performances by The Alabama Ballet, Alabama Symphony Orchestra, Alys Stephens Center, Red Mountain Theatre and Opera Birmingham. The Birmingham Arts Drive-In is open to a limited number of carloads of in-person ticket holders each night on the campus of UAB. All the tickets were snatched up the day they were released, but you can email the ASC Box Office to be added to a waiting list. Avondale Brewery will host a viewing party on July 30. Click here to make a reservation.
No tickets? No problem! You can also enjoy the show from the comfort of your couch or on a blanket under the stars in your own backyard, as the event will be livestreamed both nights via YouTube and Facebook. Visit the Birmingham Arts Drive-In event page or check the Alys Stephens Center’s social media channels for more information.
Performances will begin at 8:30 p.m. and end at 9:45 p.m. Click on a link below to watch live! You can download the program here.
