Top musical acts from just about every genre are rolling through town to get the people moving, and Birmingham establishments are hosting all sorts of events to keep things fun in between. Every day brings a new opportunity for a good time, so plan wisely and enjoy yourself. Here are a few events we are looking forward to most. 

Beach House at Avondale Brewing (Tuesday)

Beach House has been a Birmingham favorite for a long time, selling out shows at Saturn in the past. The dream rock group is coming to Avondale Brewing on Tuesday night for a stellar outdoor show that will blend perfectly with the cooling weather. If you’re going to attend anything this week, this show should be considered a top priority! 

‘Best In Dough’ Watch Party with Big Daddy Sauces (Wednesday)

Dwayne “Big Daddy” Thompson proudly represented the Birmingham-area when the BBQ sauce guru recently appeared on Hulu’s ‘Best In Show’, and now it’s time for the city to celebrate with him. The chef is hosting a watch party at Blue’s Bourbon and Brews in Pelham on Wednesday - featuring the uniquely delicious pizzas he made in the competition. This is going to be a tasty and entertaining time.

Mary J. Blige is a legendary musician who has uplifted us all when we needed it most. She’s bringing two of the biggest names in entertainment with her to The BJCC on Wednesday night, as Ella Mae and Queen Naija take the stage as well. This is going to be a wonderful night of great music. 

Opera Shots in The Hill Opera Center Parking Lot (Thursday)

Opera Birmingham has set out to show that opera is something that anyone and everyone can enjoy. They are doing so in a very fun way, with a series of pop-up concerts in random locations throughout the city. They are starting things off with a show in The Hill Opera Center parking lot this Thursday evening. This is a free event with a bring-your-own refreshments and chairs vibe.

Oktoberfest at Birmingham District Brewing Company (Friday)

Oktoberfest is upon us, and celebrations are taking place throughout our great city! Birmingham District Brewing Company is leading the festivities with a celebration on Friday night. A night of wonderful brews and buds is said to be one of the finer ways to start off a weekend, and this is a great reason to do that.
