It’s another great week for entertainment in the Magic City. Concerts of every genre join a collection of unique events like Alabama Comic Con and the Birmingham Black Repertory Theatre Collective’s  Bent, or The Not “Rent”, Musical Revue in providing our city top-notch fun for another seven days. Here are just a few of our favorite shows, releases, and more.

Big KRIT at Iron City (Thursday)

For many (including this writer), KRIT has been the South’s most consistent and impactful voice for almost a decade now. The musician's influence is best taken in at a show in states like his original home state of Mississippi or our beloved Alabama. Fortunately for our readers, you can do exactly that this Thursday at Iron City. You don’t have to know the words to every song to appreciate the joy Big KRIT brings Birmingham hip-hop heads-just go! It’s not very often you get the opportunity to see a King Remembered In Time.

Tiny Dinosaur at The Nick (Thursday)

Tiny Dinosaur is closing out their Midwest/South tour stretch at Birmingham’s famous The Nick venue on Thursday night, with local favorites Rebecca Egeland and Kaydee Mulvehill starting the night off with some fantastic music. The New Orleans-based band has acquired fans around the nation with their fantasy folk sound and are hot off the release of their debut album, “Songs for the Mass Extinction Event.”

Jack Daniels Release at LeNell’s (Saturday)

Two new releases from Jack Daniels are making their way to LeNell’s in Birmingham this Saturday! Image from LeNell’s

LeNell’s Beverage Boutique is known for offering some of the finest spirits that can be found in the Magic City, and often leads us to support a new distillery in the process. The shop is bringing us new takes on a classic brand this weekend, as Jack Daniels releases their Bonded Tennessee Whiskey and Triple Mash Blended Straight Whiskey for an eager public! This free event takes place from 3 to 5pm on Saturday.

Birmingham R&B Experience at The BJCC (Sunday)

The Magic City is in for a night of fantastic music this Sunday at 7pm as Keith Sweat, Monica, Tamara Braxton, 112, Ginuwine, and Silk all make their way to The BJCC to create the live soundtrack to the perfect night out. This very stacked singing lineup ensures that it will be a wonderful Sunday for all who attend this musical moment in Birmingham.

The Bouquets Final Show (Sunday)

The Bouquets is a collection of some of our city’s finest musicians, and they will bittersweetly be playing their final show as a collective this Sunday at Saturn - and want you to join them in celebrating! This is a free show that features other Birmingham favorites including Seriously and B. Sonnier. We’d highly recommend taking part in this Magic City moment.

As you can see, there are plenty of wonderful ways to take in the city you live in this week. These are only a few of the many wonderful options, and taking a walk around one of our amazing parks or finding a good sunset view to enjoy are just as wonderful. The big focus is getting out and enjoying the world around you!
