It’s another great week for events in Birmingham. World-famous musical legends are coming through town, and a variety of fun community-centered events are taking place at some of the finest venues in the city. Whatever your “cup of tea” is when it comes to going out, there is something for you to enjoy this week. We share a few of the things we’re most looking forward to partaking in here.
The Hu at Iron City (Wednesday)
The Hu are a Mongolian heavy metal band that has gained millions of fans around the world due to their unique sound. The group is bringing their blend of traditional and rocking sounds to Birmingham’s famed Iron City venue this Wednesday as a part of their Black Thunder tour. They will be joined by South Florida favorites, The Haunt, for what is sure to be a night of great music.
AJ Beavers and Taylor Hollingsworth Benefit Show (Saturday)
Two of the Magic City’s favorite musicians will be coming together to help raise money for The Gibson Bradley Foundation, which aims to help families who’ve lost a child pay for funeral and related expenses. The event is hosted by Ferus Artisan Ales, who also partnered with Bert Bradley to create a beer called “Father’s Love” with proceeds supporting the foundation as well. We’d recommend getting to the Trussville Entertainment District to hear some great tunes from AJ Beavers and Taylor Hollingsworth and support this important cause.
Saturn Summer Market (Saturday)
Any market hosted by Saturn is always a wonderful shopping experience, and this Saturday’s summer edition is sure to continue this fabulous tradition. Vintage clothing, beautiful works of art, and more partner nicely with Domestique Coffee’s delicious beverages - ensuring that you’ll have a fantastic start to your weekend festivities. Later that night, the party people at Latinos Con Onda take over the venue for a fun night of reggaeton and Latin dance music, so prepare for a wonderful full day at this charming Bham venue.
Free Show at Saturn (Sunday)
After a marathon of a day Saturday, the fine folks at Saturn keep the fun going on Sunday night with a free show featuring some of the area’s finest musicians. Mood Room, TROOPER, fauxdeep, and Just Like Heaven are all taking the stage for what is sure to be a night of fantastic live music.
Plant Swap at House Plant Collective
Plant lovers unite! The House Plant Collective will be hosting a wonderfully fun event for lovers of all things floral Sunday from 2 to 3pm. Bring a plant (or multiple) and make a new friend (or multiple)! This is sure to make for a delightful afternoon experience to close out the weekend.
Whatever activities you choose to enjoy over the next week, it’s a delight to know that we have so many options to choose from in the Magic City!
