It’s another week in Birmingham, which means another week of unique events that can’t be found anywhere else. This edition sees bittersweet final shows line up alongside indie wrestling, pig roasts, and other fun Magic City adventures. Here are a few of our favorite things to check out.

New South Pro Wrestling has been making fans all across Alabama with their dedication to great matchups highlighted by athletic feats and interesting storylines. Things are only going to get more entertaining this Friday at the original Ghost Train as Jimmy and Jazzy Wang Yang come to the Magic City with every intention of kicking butts and taking names.

Deebs Days (Friday and Saturday)

If you haven’t seen CBDB play a live show, you’ve got to get to Avondale this weekend! Image from Alive Coverage

CBDB has been at the top of Birmingham’s favorite jam experiences for many years now, which left many of us lost and concerned when the live music legends announced they would be taking a rest. Fortunately, we have Deebs Days this weekend to load up on the CBDB experience. The band takes the stage at Avondale Brewing both nights and is joined by other favorites including Winston Ramble, The Shady Recruits, Little Raine Band, and The Talismen.

The HICA Junior Board is bringing back one of Birmingham’s newest annual celebrations with the 2022 Pig Roast at Cahaba Brewing this Saturday from 4 to 8pm. There will certainly be great food as the slow-cooked luxury joins The Current at Cahaba in filling empty stomachs. Cahaba is also releasing a limited-edition beer to celebrate with the Lagerveza. This is going to be a fun day with lots of joy and good tastes.

Nowhere Squares + Boss Rush (Saturday)

Two of Birmingham’s best bands take the stage at one of our most legendary music venues this Saturday night. Nowhere Squares and Boss Rush have both been impressing audiences in the Magic City and beyond, and join forces at The Nick for a display of what makes this city so special.

Wherever you end up this weekend, you’re making a Magic City moment. We hope it’s a great one.
