Looking to do more than just the tried-and-true brunch to celebrate Mother’s Day this weekend? We’ve got you covered. Make Mom feel extra special by taking her to any of these options -- we guarantee you’ll put a smile on her face.

Mother’s Day Market

Cahaba Brewing Company

Saturday, May 8

12 p.m. - 5 p.m.

Cahaba Brewing Company is hosting its first annual Mother's Day Market, and they’ve teamed up with 50 local artisans, vendors, makers, and creators to celebrate the holiday. In addition to a vast array of shopping and gift opportunities, there will be food, cocktails, and excellent craft beer on tap, too.

Food trucks at the event include Simon’s, Corazon, Kayjuns, Crawdaddy’s, and Maggie’s Farm, and live music from JD & The Man Dirty Mirrors will provide the background groove.

Alabama Symphony Orchestra’s Stars Fell on Alabama: A Memorial Concert

Streaming virtually Friday, May 7 - Sunday, May 16

While not in person as it would normally be, you can take Mom to one of Birmingham’s lush outdoor spaces -- think Railroad Park, the Birmingham Botanical Gardens, and the like -- and treat her to this Spring Serenades performance by the Alabama Symphony Orchestra. If Mom enjoys music, she won’t want to miss this tribute performance dedicated to ASO’s patrons, board members, volunteers, and fellow music lovers that have made an impact on the organization. It will feature former ASO Music Director Amerigo Marino’s arrangement of Stars Fell on Alabama, a nod to the state we call home.

The MarketPlace at Lee Branch - Celebrate Mothers

Saturday, May 8

8 a.m. - 12 p.m.

Venture out to the MarketPlace at Lee Branch on Saturday for Opening Day _ Celebrate Mothers, where you and Mom can pick out delicious ingredients you’ll need to make her your own Mother’s Day brunch, lunch, or dinner! You two can cook the meal together on Sunday as a fun bonding experience, or let Mom prop her feet up and relax while you do the heavy lifting.

While you’re at Celebrate Mothers, drop by the Kids Tent and surprise Mom with a free flower. After that, try a strawberry tasting and enjoy music from Brendan Young.

Art at Arlington

Arlington Antebellum House and Gardens
